Set Your Mind on Things Above

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. (Colossions 3:1)

As Christians, we have been made alive with Christ, set free from death and the penalty of our sins. Christ offers us eternal life, so it is only fitting we set our hearts on the things above, where Christ (our mediator and high priest) is seated at the right hand of God.

For me, this means avoiding vices I've had trouble with like smoking or drinking. It means no longer being conformed to the world's system, but being transformed by the renewing of my mind.

How do you renew your mind? By searching the scripture, by meditating on God's Word, and obeying what you find in God's Word.

When you wake up each day, the first thing you should start with is prayer, then the opening up of The Bible. And when you read the Bible you should pray that God opens your eyes to what it is saying to you. This should be done early in the day, because as the day progresses the business of life can cloud out your desire to give the day to God.

When you wake up, before you do anything, offer your day and your life up to God. Give him all that you are and all that you will be. Make sure He knows you are sanctified and Holy, ready to give your life in the service of the gospel of Christ.
